How fun is this?! To celebrate the release of The Drip Drop shops fab new Valentines labels, we've teamed up to share a fun DIY with you all! With Valentine's Day approaching, this is one you won't want to miss! It's no secret that we love a good bath soak, and this super lux milk bath does not disappoint..
Rumor has it, Cleopatra indulged in these daily. If fact, she was known for her beautiful skin. Why milk? Milk can cleanse the skin down to its deepest layers. The lactic acid in milk is an alpha hydroxy acid, it dissolves the glue that holds dead skin cells together, which allows the skin to rejuvenate itself much quicker. Amazing right? And Ladies..on Valentine's Day, there is nothing sexier than soft skin!
To the milk we then add calming oatmeal and, Lavender and Ylang Ylang essential oils. Ylang Ylang essential oil is our top pick for Valentine's Day. It encourages feelings of love, confidence and joy. Working as a bit of an aphrodisiac for some, it can also enhance relationships and increase sexual energy!😍
Ok! Now on to the recipe..
In a large mason jar, add..
- 1 cup of finely ground Oatmeal
- 2 cups of powdered milk (those that are sensitive to dairy can use coconut milk powder in place of milk)
- 1 cup of dried Rose petals
-In a separate bowl mix together..
- 2 T baking soda
- 10 drops of Lavender essential oil
- 10 drops of Ylang Ylang
.. Stir together until this mixture has smoothed out, allow the Baking soda to dry for a few minutes, then add this to the mason jar along side the other ingredients. Put the lid on the jar and give everything a good shake! (Please remember to keep this soak dry by keeling a lid on it at all times. Any moisture that gets in the jar will activate the milk powder and your bath soak will spoil)
